2026 Tongshan County Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition Announcement

To comprehensively implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and its subsequent plenary sessions, deeply advance the innovation-driven development strategy, accelerate the growth of new quality productive forces, and attract high-quality entrepreneurial talent and project resources to support Tongshan County's high-quality development and modern industrial system construction, we are now launching the 2026 Tongshan County Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition open to participants from across the province and beyond. The competition details are announced as follows.

III. Purpose of the Competition

(1) Deepen talent recruitment and introduction.Host competitions to identify innovation and entrepreneurship talent, attract high-level professionals, establish top-tier projects, and transform high-quality outcomes—providing the talent and intellectual support needed to drive high-quality development in our county.

(2) Ignite innovation and entrepreneurship.Leveraging talent agencies, universities, research institutions, and corporate investment networks, we will attract high-quality talent projects through project evaluation, active matchmaking, and proactive follow-up services. This approach is tailored to Tongshan's industrial landscape and enterprise needs, further igniting innovation and entrepreneurship vitality.

Accelerate industrial upgrading (3).By hosting competitions, we will build an efficient platform for connecting talent, technology, capital, and data to drive industrial upgrading. We will deeply tap into and integrate diverse resources to accelerate the development of a unique Tongshan industrial ecosystem.

Promote externally (4).Leverage the competition to raise awareness among high-level talent about Tongshan's innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem, talent policies, and strategic location advantages. Continuously enhance Tongshan's reputation as a city that honors and respects talent.

V. Competition Rules

Individuals, teams, or enterprises from within or outside the province with a stable team, independent intellectual property rights, and core technologies are eligible to register. Specific requirements must meet the following conditions:

(1) Applicants must be the primary project leaders with a strong intention to innovate and start businesses in Tongshan. At the time of the competition launch, the project must not have been established in Tongshan (for projects that are under negotiation but not yet settled, the enterprise registration date must be after 2026/1/1). Additionally, applicants must not have signed labor (employment) contracts or technical cooperation agreements with any employer in Tongshan County. Participants are expected to plan to establish their operations in Tongshan or secure cooperation agreements with relevant employers after the competition.

(2) The product, technology, and related patents of the participating project shall be owned by the participants. The project demonstrates notable innovation and potential for commercialization and market adoption, with no intellectual property disputes with any enterprise, organization, or individual.

Projects that have won 2 or more awards (including 2) in national-level high-talent innovation and entrepreneurship competitions (3) but failed to launch cannot participate in this competition. Projects that have previously participated in similar competitions within the Xianning region and received awards are not eligible to enter again.



VI. Event Schedule

The competition consists of 3 stages: registration and review, preliminary round, finals, and the awarding and signing ceremony. Projects are evaluated based on authenticity, feasibility, innovation, alignment, maturity, and technical sophistication.


Registration and review (1) (before 8/16)

1. The competition accepts online registration. Participants may register in person at the Tongshan (Wuhan) Offshore Science and Technology Innovation Center or contact the Competition Organizing Committee Office. Contact: Mr. Yang, Phone: 18627005498.

2. The competition organizing committee office will evaluate the feasibility, authenticity of materials, and intent to establish operations for each project based on entry requirements, selecting those that advance to the preliminary round.


(2) Preliminary Round (8 20)

Held at the Tongshan (Wuhan) Offshore Innovation Center. The preliminary round follows a "10+5" format (10-minute pitch, 5-minute Q&A). Expert judges will select at least 12 projects to advance to the finals based on their alignment with Tongshan's "3+2+4" modern industrial system and commitment to local implementation.


(3) Finals and Award Signing Ceremony (8 28)

The finals will be held at the Tongshan County Media Center's studio, preceded by an opening ceremony. Following the opening, 12 projects advancing to the finals will compete in 2 groups using the "8+7" format (8-minute pitch and 7-minute Q&A). The finals panel will consist of 7 judges who will determine winning projects and award tiers based on expert review recommendations. After selecting the winners, a closing ceremony will be held to present medals to the finalists and sign project implementation (cooperation) intent agreements between the partnering parties.


7. Competition Awards

The finals will award 1 first prizes, 2 second prizes, 3 third prizes, and 6 excellence awards. First, second, and third prizes include cash support. After the project is established, additional support will be provided in accordance with relevant policies.


VIII. Related Matters

(1) This competition does not charge any fees to participants.

The project materials submitted by participants (2) must not contain plagiarism, misappropriation, or other illegal acts. Violations will result in immediate disqualification and recovery of any funded amounts. Participants are solely responsible for resolving any intellectual property disputes related to their projects.

Participants in (3) join this competition on a voluntary basis. If you have any concerns, please contact us promptly or choose to withdraw. However, you may not request changes to the competition rules nor claim compensation for any costs incurred by participating.

The organizing committee of the (4) competition reserves the right to amend these rules and has final authority over all interpretations. For any matters not covered herein, further notice will be issued separately.
